In your own space, talk about your creative process - from what inspires you to what motivates you to how you manage to break through blocks. Does your process change depending on the type of creating you're doing?
In order to enjoy the writing process, the most important thing for me to decide before I start is the mood or the tone of the story. I usually have a feeling of that before the story itself. Quite often it's one single scene, or maybe one single line that gets stuck in my head and decides how the story goes, and then I try to figure out why this character is here, or why they say that particular line. Sometimes, and that's quite often when the writing process is most fun, I have the final scene or the final line ready almost from the start. And when I don't, I usually have lots of trouble finding an ending I'm happy with.
I like to listen to music before I write, but not so much while I write. Also, especially if it's been a while since I wrote in English, I like to read a little bit of an English novel that fits the tone I'm looking for, to sort of get into the feel of the English language again. (Or at least try, haha :))
My main problem when I struggle to write, usually isn't writer's block, but lack of time, or trouble leaving all the small and not so small challenges of daily life behind for a while and disappear into my story. Though I suppose that's a challenge I share with a lot of you :)
